The island as a symbol of anonymity, the center of nothingness or a non-place. The relationship generated between the own environment against what is not known, suggests a series of questions without answers due to the inability to see beyond our own perspective. The idea of ”island” creates a panorama showing two distant points, each one producing its own sense of fiction and reality. This way, emphasis is made on the concept of the isolated as a territory where utopic thinking functions as ideology, limiting what can be seen to only that which is at hand. The myth of the unicorn, in this case, serves as an example of the way the imaginary condition inflates things from a distance, creating a fictitious self-reality and exoticism.
