Jim LaVilla-Havelin is a poet, teacher, and community arts activist.
He is the author of five books of poems,
the most recent is WEST, poems of a place (Wings Press, 2017).
LaVilla-Havelin is the Coordinator for National Poetry Month activities in San Antonio and Poetry Editor for the San Antonio Express-News and Houston Chronicle.
He lives in Lytle,Texas with his wife, artist, Lucia LaVilla-Havelin, where he sees many of the cows which ruminate in his poems.
