The Creation of the Logo

After a lot of research, meetings, paperwork, more meetings…, the Texas Commission on the Arts designated our area the “King William Cultural Arts District”  The King William neighborhood  and the city of San Antonio were very excited about the support we can give local arts, performance, and cultural groups.  As we were preparing to create this website, we began discussing what the logo would be.  Two images emerged…  the crown representing “King” William and the beautiful and world famous San Antonio River.  The district is just south of downtown and is part of the urban historic landscape.  One can actually walk the entire way along the river into the district.  Some of the most beautiful stretches of the river are found there.  So, the image represents the river that continues from downtown into a wonderful cultural arts district.  We invite everyone to discover this unique area and all that it contains.
